Mercies

Mercy is a consideration within logic that ensures that specifically defined tedious tasks are not required for the completion of seed. Some tricks, when enabled, effectively revoke a mercy.

Mercy is a somewhat nebulous term; it could be defined as any time that OoTMM's developers make logic more restrictive (such as requiring more items) than necessary with the goal of sparing players from unpleasant tasks

OoTMM's logic is subject to a lot of development work; over time new mercies may be added and/or older ones removed. These will usually be documented in the change log.

Ikana Canyon Music House Entry - Waiting for Pamela

In Ikana Canyon, after playing the Song of Storms in the Spring Water Cave, Pamela is initially found next to the river. At this point, attempting to gain entry to the Music Box House without Stone Mask is futile because it will trigger a cutscene in which Pamela runs back into the house. Once inside, she refuses entry.

Once Pamela is inside, there are two ways to make her come out again:

• Using any explosive near the house
• Waiting (faster with uninverted time)

As a mercy, waiting for Pamela to come back out again is never required to beat a logic seed. Logic is under the impression that explosives or stone mask are required to enter the music box house after rejuvenating the spring. Logic also understands that it's possible to enter the Music Box House when Ikana Canyon is in the clear state, however; the Gibdo Mask check cannot be obtained in Ikana Canyon clear state, so this method is only relevant with Interior entrances shuffled.

Ikana Canyon - Ice Arrows Platforms to and from Secret Shrine without Chateau Romani

With Bronze Scale enabled, it's not possible to swim until the Bronze Scale has been obtained. The usual way to reach Secret Shrine involves swimming, but if this isn't possible, an alternative method is to use Ice Arrows platforms. Using Chateau Romani for infinite magic makes this much easier.

As a mercy, using Ice Arrow platforms to go to and from Secret Shrine is never required to beat a logic seed unless there is a logical source of Chateau Romani
